The Youth Intervention Pathways (YIP) program is a short-term case management program that provides a youth between the ages of 10 – 17 with up to 90 days of dedicated support. Youth Outreach Services provides a range of support to YIP participants, including meals, transportation assistance, hygiene products, resources, and case management services. The program offers pretrial and diversion services to help young people meet their pretrial release conditions and access community support, using a trauma-informed and restorative justice approach to assist adolescents.
A dedicated staff member will work with your youth to set and achieve goals, such as:
· Improving school attendance and academic achievement
· Strengthening positive relationships with peers and family members
· Developing essential communication and decision-making skills
· Securing part-time employment opportunities
To qualify for the YIP program, a young person must be referred directly by the Chicago Police Department. Participation in this program is voluntary, and there are no fees involved. The YIP program serves young people between the ages of 10 and 17 who have been referred by the Chicago Police Department.
